And here’s the payoff: that higher voltage lowers the current for the wattage you’re getting. That means less energy lost in the wiring and you can use thinner wires inside the machine. Built to Last
Inside, you’ve got a high-purity quartz tube holding a tungsten filament and halogen gas. This combo is key. The halogen cycle keeps the filament clean, so you don’t get that blackening and quick burnout you see with standard infrared lamps. It runs hotter, which actually keeps the quartz clear and the output steady over the lamp’s entire life. It uses the standard R7s double-ended connector. It’s a solid, two-point contact that handles the tube expanding and contracting with the heat, so you’re not stressing the connections. If you’ve got an R7s socket, this is a straight swap. Easy.
The Sweet Spot, and the Trade-off
We built this for focused, radiant heat in industrial settings. Think plastic processing, sealing packages, or curing lines. The 24.25-inch length puts that heat right where you need it. But here’s the thing. A 1500W halogen lamp throws off serious heat. So the reflector and the fixture around it have to be able to handle that load. You need to make sure the material you’re heating can take the energy without getting scorched, and that your machine’s ventilation is up to the task.
