Introduction
We built this 380mm halogen heating lamp for the real-world industrial jobs that demand serious, controllable radiant heat—without taking up a ton of space. It’s simple at the core: 2500W, running on 400V, with an SK15 ceramic base. If your machine is tight on room but can’t cut corners on heat, this is the kind of setup that makes sense.
Power, voltage, and size—what it actually means
At 2500W across a 380mm tube, you get a lot of heat packed into a short length. That means it heats up fast and responds quickly when your process needs the temperature to move. Running at 400V instead of standard mains voltage keeps the current lower for the same power. Lower current is good news: you can use smaller wiring, smaller terminals, and you get less heat building up at the electrical connection. But here’s the important part: this lamp needs to be matched to a 400V control circuit. If you run it on a lower voltage, you lose power. If you run it on a higher voltage, you risk burning out the filament early.
What it’s made of—and why it matters
Halogen technology helps keep the quartz envelope and filament stable when things get seriously hot. That stability is what keeps the output consistent over time, instead of drifting as the lamp ages. The half-white finish isn’t just a look—it’s practical. It diffuses the light while still letting through plenty of infrared, so you get the radiant heat you need without turning the work area into a blinding glare. And that SK15 ceramic base? It’s built to handle the heat without softening, and it locks the lamp in place securely. It also keeps the electrical contacts steady, even when there’s vibration or the system cycles between hot and cold again and again.
Where it shines—and what to watch for
This lamp is made for industrial heating, curing, and drying—jobs where you need heat focused in one spot and the ability to position the source close to the target. The 380mm length is a real advantage when you’re cramming components into a tight heating module, and the SK15 base makes installation straightforward into compatible fixtures. But let’s be honest: packing 2500W into such a small space creates a lot of local heat. That means your machine has to be set up to manage airflow and provide enough thermal shielding to protect nearby parts. When you plan your system, match the lamp to a properly rated 400V supply, and make sure the fixture and cooling are ready for the heat load. Do that, and you’ve got a focused, tough heat source that can keep up with demanding work.
