Technical Deep-Dive: Power, Voltage, and Dimensions
The 2000W rating is about heat density, not just total heat. At this wattage, the lamp generates intense infrared output from a small envelope, which allows you to hit a target temperature quickly without heating the entire machine enclosure. The specified voltage determines the input current and the control strategy. A 2000W load at 230V draws roughly 8.7A, while at 400V it draws about 5A. Higher voltage reduces current, which cuts conductor size and lowers voltage drop across long wiring runs. The physical length—typically in the 300mm to 350mm range—is a direct compromise.
