Let’s talk about our 470mm 600W Halogen Lamps
If you’ve ever waited forever for a ceramic heater to finally get up to temp, you know how frustrating that lag is. That’s why we built these. They’re designed to hit your target temperature fast—like, really fast—without the long wait.
The Specs (and why they matter)
At 470mm, these fit right into most mid-sized industrial ovens or PET blowing machines. We’ve tuned the 600W output so the heat spreads evenly across the whole length. No weird hot spots. No warped materials. Just a heads-up: these things get incredibly hot.**Keep your reflectors clean.**If they get oxidized or dirty, they’ll bounce too much heat back into the lamp, and you’ll end up burning through your tubes way faster than you should.
The Build
We use high-purity quartz for the envelope because it can handle the shock of being turned on and off rapidly. Inside, there’s a tungsten filament and halogen gas. The gas basically stops the filament from evaporating, which means the lamp lasts a lot longer than a basic incandescent bulb. As for the fittings, we usually go with R7s or similar slip-on connectors. It makes replacements a breeze. When a tube goes, you just pop it out and drop a new one in. No need to spend an hour tinkering while your production line sits idle.
Getting Them to Work for You
These are shortwave IR lamps, meaning they punch through plastics and coatings much faster than longwave options. They’re perfect for shrink tunnels or pre-heating. But since 600W is a lot of power, you’ll want a solid PID loop in your control system. If your sensors are slow to react, you might accidentally cook your parts. One last tip: check your lead wires. Make sure they have proper heat shielding, or you’ll find the insulation melting right where it meets the lamp. Not a great look.
